Noah & Lauren’s Costa Rica Destination Wedding

Uncategorized

I never thought I’d be able to go back to Costa Rica… & then I got hired to shoot another wedding there. It felt pretty surreal. I always love the culture that comes with a destination wedding & the mystical illusion to it all. It’s important to me to capture ambient sound like the ocean waves rolling,

This time the wedding took place at a private residence called Casa Fantastica, but it was still located in the town of Manuel Antonio near Quepos. I was happy to go back to the same spot – I felt like I didn’t get to experience it long enough the first time. Manuel Antonio is really a wonderful place with wonderful people.

I loved the fact that this wedding had an event planner who made the day run smoothly, and also made the already gorgeous location even prettier with her aesthetic vision. The decor for this wedding was fitting: tropical florals, greenery, and a bohemian-style tent. It all tied together so beautifully with the backdrop of the ocean.

Destination weddings are always a bit different. We didn’t pressure ourselves to get all the footage done in one day, just the essentials, so that Lauren & Noah could spend time with their family and friends. Because we were in such a beautiful location, we planned a “day-after” session where we got up at sunrise to get some footage on the beach. On this day we went to Manuel Antonio National Park, which holds one of the world’s most beautiful beaches. I actually wasn’t able to go to the national park the last time I was there, so it was great being able to shoot in a new location & to mark that particular beach off my bucket list.
